Miss Angie
Miss Angie (Angie Turner) is my favorite current artist. So far she has released two albums, 100 Million Eyeballs (1997) and Triumphantine (1999), and both of them are excellent. In fact, I enjoy every single song on both albums. The first album has a heavier grunge-rock sound (say, like Veruca Salt), while the second album has a more dance/drum machine sound (say, like The Cardigans). Although her lyrics often deal with Christian themes, one doesn't have to be a Christian to enjoy the songs. (In fact, I had enjoyed both albums before becoming a Christian.) Unfortunately, I've never actually seen a Miss Angie album at a secular store, so your best bet on acquiring a copy would be to try your local Christian bookstore, or order online at musicforce.com.
