You'll notice that a lot of the links below belong to the more pop and rock-influenced country music, which many critics hold in disdain, saying that it's not really country.
I seriously don't understand such objections. Country music, or any music for that matter, shouldn't be limited to whatever it might have sounded like in a particular era. We don't hold most rock musicians in disdain for not sounding like Chuck Berry anymore. Country music should be free to explore, including exploration of the mainstream.
